Dan Leno was one of the great music hall and pantomime stars of the Victorian era (many would say ‘the greatest’.)

Dan Leno made thirteen short films towards the end of his life.

Virtually all these brief glimpses of Leno and his work are now believed lost …

But one of those ‘lost’ gems has now been digitally restored by Studio 1919 [Link].

The restored ‘Dessert at Dan Leno’s House’ will receive its premiere at the British Music Hall Society’s 50th anniversary celebrations on Friday September 20th at Wilton’s Music Hall, introduced by Roy Hudd OBE.

We’ll be showing the restoration and discussing the various methods used to make it, and explaining how you can contribute to a documentary on the life, work and legacy of Dan Leno.
